Thursday, January 13, 2011 Communication: A Principal Communicating EffectivelyCommunication will be a new series on my blog. It will spotlight our attempt to disseminate information to---and regarding---young people. The reverse flow of information is fair game too! This should be fun! The good, the bad, and the ugly! To date, in this series I have presented a couple of less than perfect attempts to communicate with young people and their parents. Today, I'd like to spotlight one very successful communication initiative embraced by Principal Kent Messer of Sloan Creek Middle School in Lovejoy ISD (Texas). Principal Messer posts a detailed weekly message on his school website. Each post is immediately visible upon visiting the page, old posts are archived to the left, and his constituents can count on him to post weekly...consistently. Besides being an outlet for key information from administration and the school at-large, this web page in essence serves as a "history" archive for the campus and district. If you would like to do this...or a blog like I am doing now---or any such automated task---and you don't know how to do so...email me at dan.s.martin@edclick.com. I'll be happy to hear from you! It is all so easy! Posted at 9:27 AM Keywords: Communication , Principal's Message , Lovejoy ISD 0 Comments |
